White Leghorns

 

The White Leghorn originates from Tuscany, which is located in Italy. Leghorns were originally named "Italians". In 1874 they were added to the American Standard of Perfection, only three colors are original Black, White (most common), and brown.

American white leghorns are your most common and most desired of the leghorns. They are one of the best egg layers, starting at age 5 months. They lay a large white egg, 280 to 320 a year.
