Japanese Cortunix Quail is a species from Old World quail, found in East Asia. The Japanese Cortunix Quail is a busy little quail, it was used to create many breeds including, Texas A&M, Italian, Scarlett, Golden Tuxedo, and many many others.
They are fully grown at 8 weeks, and begin to lay a speckled egg daily. They lay eggs usually 9 months out of the year, taking a small break i the winter months.
The males crow a loud noise. The adult females are brown and has dark spots on her breast, while the adult males are brown and have a reddish breast. The males tend to smaller in size compared to the females.
